Testing

The software included with the Genesis Krypton 750 is identical with the software included with the Genesis Krypton 550. In fact, this software has been widely used by a few mice manufactures.
The good thing about a shared software is that it has been tried and tested by many over a long period of time. This results in a software that is stable, easy on the computer’s resources and void of glitches.

The first page of the software allows you to configure the function of the buttons, it will also let you save and change the profiles stored within the mouse memory.

The second page deals with the performance of the sensor. Here you can adjust the DPI value, pooling rate and the color of each profile. On the right side you can adjust the scroll speed, mouse speed, key speed and so on.

The third page has all the RGB settings you want, the light pattern and modes, the colors and more.

The last page is the macro editor for the entire mouse, here you can change the function of all buttons and switches.

The performance testing is done using the Mouse Tester software and a basic MS Paint draw test. Additional testing is done by using the reviewed mouse as the daily mouse, for more than a few weeks. The last part of the test is focusing on the gaming performance of the mouse, using the following games:

– Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
– Grand Theft Auto V
– Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
– Shadow of the Tomb Raider
– Metro Exodus
– The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Mouse Tester software is used to test the performance of the sensor in different situations. Using the Velocity test, we can see the tracking performance of the sensor based on the speed the mouse moves on a surface, the lower the spread the better the tracking is.

The MS paint test is done at different DPI settings; this will indicate any issues with the tracking of the sensor. As you can see, everything works as expected within those DPI values.

Final thoughts

The Genesis Krypton 750 is an interesting light-weight gaming mouse that includes a few unique features. For starters, this is one of the few modern gaming mice that includes an adjustable weight system. Not only that but this mouse has a removable and replaceable rear cover.

The performance of the Krypton 750 is great, with good tracking on multiple surfaces and no issues in terms of angle snapping or jitter. The Pixart PAW3333 optical sensor is a budget model but still delivers a good performance, especially for casual gaming.

What is great about this mouse is the shape, and for good reason as this shape has been tried and tested by many manufacturers. In addition, the symmetrical casing of this mouse makes the Krypton 750 ideal for both left and right-handed users.

The mechanical switches offer good tactile feedback and I’m not talking about just the main clicks. Even the side buttons feel great as they are properly braced by the mouse casing and have little to no flexing.

The cable used by the Krypton 750 is great, as it’s long and flexible. The flexibility is given by the light paracord sleeving which is soft and has little resistance to bending.
The weight system is good and will work just as intended. A good thing to see with this system is that the weight tray and by extension the weights are centered, and thus, the mouse will be balanced.

If there are any issues with this mouse it has to be the price. At over 40 USD, the Genesis Krypton 750 is not cheap, especially when we look at other mice and what those models have to offer for the same price.

Another thing to point out with the Krypton 750 is that it lacks features and design elements that other mice have. The smaller and cheaper Krypton 550 has rubberized inserts on both sides for added grip and a dedicated RGB toggle switch on the underside. The Krypton 750 has neither of those things and it’s unfortunate, as they would have added more value to the mouse.

In conclusion, the Genesis Krypton 750 is a well-made lightweight gaming mouse that offers great features. The Huano made mechanical switches offer great tactile feedback, and the PAW3333 optical sensor does its job on multiple surfaces. However, this mouse is priced too high, especially in a market that is over saturated with mice under the 50 USD price mark.
