Final thoughts

The Sabrent Rocket Q4 2TB is one of the best M.2 SSDs available right now. Not only because of its performance, but because its one of the first models that uses the PCIe 4.0 interface and QLC flash chips.

This SSD uses Micron made memory chips and a brand new Phison made controller. The fast storage is done with the help of two SK Hyinx RAM chips, which have a total DRAM capacity of 2GB.
In terms of the performance, it’s what we can expect from a high quality PCIe 4.0 drive, even low support for this new interface, the drive achieved 1.4GB/s when writing files. In synthetic benchmarks, the Rocket Q4 is on the first position, thanks to the before mentioned high quality components.

The build quality is exceptional, all components are of high quality and the included heatsink adds more value to the overall package. In addition, the heatsink does perform as designed and lowers the overall temperature of the SSD by approximately 12°C. However, this heatsink has one issue, it can’t be used with all motherboards, especially those that have a bigger heatsink that covers the chipset as well. This means that before you decide that you need this heatsink in your life, you must make sure that your motherboard has enough space to accommodate it.

In conclusion, the Sabrent Rocket Q4 2TB has a great performance and has included a dedicated heatsink that will deliver proper cooling to the SSD components. The Rocket Q4 is not cheap, however, the price is justified by the used components and the offered performance, especially on a PCIe 4.0 platform.
