Team Group T-Force Vulcan G 1TB

Visual inspection

The Team Group T-Force Vulcan G 1TB has an all black 2.5” case and chrome inserts in the shape of the Vulcan G and T-Force emblems. These not only have a chrome texture but have lines carved into the reflective surface.

The back side of the SSD has a simple label which contains the technical information of the SSD. This includes the serial number of the SSD, the model number and operating voltage.

The Team Group T-Force Vulcan G 1TB uses the SATA 6.0Gb/s interface. These connectors are compatible with all SATA devices, new and old.

The T-Force Vulcan G 1TB is easy to disassemble as the casing is made out of two parts that are held in place by clips. Once the bottom plate is detached from the casing, the upper part can be removed.

The PCB of the SSD is small and takes up around 20% of the space inside the casing. While a smaller casing could be made, these SSDs must maintain the 2.5” form factor to be compatible with all 2.5” devices and storage spaces.

The highlight of the Team Group T-Force Vulcan G 1TB is the Silicon Motion made controller, the SM2258XT G. This is a four-channel flash controller and is known to be compatible with SSDs that do not have a DRAM cache.

The four memory flash chips installed on this SSD are made by Toshiba/Kioxia and are the 64-Layer TLC type. The part number for the memory chips is: TH58TFT1V23BA8H.
