The Silverstone MS12 has a good design, as it is an M.2 SSD enclosure made entirely out of metal. The outer shell is shaped to dissipate heat quickly and efficiently while also looking good.
The enclosure has the following dimensions: 106.15mm 33.3mm x 15.3mm.

The top part of the enclosure has the Silverstone logo and a QR code painted, next to the MS12 model name. It’s a subtle design element that does its job, it has the manufacturer’s logo, the name of the product and a QR code form ore info.

In terms of output and input ports, the MS12 enclosure has a single USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C port. This port is installed on the narrow side of the enclosure and unfortunately has no protective cap to keep dust and debris away.

Next to the USB Type-C port there is a small LED that will act as both the power indicator and the SSD activity LED.

While many M.2 enclosures use a tool-less latch system to open and close, the MS12 is different. This enclosure has its top and bottom panels attached to the metal body by four hexagonal screws instead of clips. This basically guarantees that the enclosure will survive a medium impact and will last a long time.

Inside the enclosure we have a small PCB that has three different mounting points for three M.2 form factors: 2242, 2260 & 2280. The mounting point for the SSD is a single brass hexagonal screw and insert combination.

A great thing to see is that the enclosure has thermal pads on both sides, thus the SSD and the PCB will be cooled.
