Visual inspection
The PC60 480GB has a good design, with soft lines on the front side, lines that follow the contour of the SSD. The body of the PC60 SSD is made from plastic, and has a matte texture on both the front and back sides. While the edges of the casing are glossy.
The PC60 has a single connector, a USB 3.2 Type C connector. Unfortunately, no protective cap is provided to protect the internal surface of this connector.
One good feature of this SSD is the inner space of the upper left corner. This is done to create a connection point for a keychain carabiner.
The disassembly procedure of this SSD is very simple. In essence, the two parts of the plastic casing need to be pried open. There are only clips on the inside and no screws to worry about.
Opening the casing reveals that the PC60 is in fact a standard SATA SSD. The USB Type-C port is part of an adapter which connects to the SATA ports of the SSD. This adapter uses a ASMedia chipset, which has the model number: ASM235CM.
The controller used on this SSD is made by Silicon Motion, and is the SM2259XT model. This is a four-channel controller which is known for having a DRAM-less cache.
The PC60 has a single memory flash chip, which is manufactured by Intel and have the 3D NAND flash design. This memory chip has the serial number: 29R04T2A0CTJ1.
