Kioxia Exceria Plus G2 1TB

The Kioxia Exceria Plus G2 1TB is one of the flagship M.2 SSDs from Kioxia. The design of the SSD is simple, with a light blue PCB and an all-black label covering the top side. The beforementioned label is not used as a small heatsink as it’s made from paper and not metal.
The Exceria Plus G2 1TB has the M.2 2280 form factor, this means that the SSD has a width of 22 mm and a length of 80 mm.

 

The Exceria Plus G2 1TB has a Kioxia branded controller. This is nothing more than a rebranded Phison E12S. This is a controller with an eight-channel design and support for TLC memory.

 

The SSD has a total of 1GB of DDR4 RAM for its cache. The RAM chip used is made by Samsung and is running at 2666MHz. The model number for this DRAM chip is: K4A8G165WC-BCTD.

 

The small chip installed next to the controller is made by Phison and is the voltage control module of the SSD.

 

The storage of the Exceria Plus G2 1TB is done using eight Kioxia Toshiba made memory chips. These have the 96-layer TLC NAND design. The model number for the memory chips is: TH58LJT1T24BS8C.

 

The Exceria Plus G2 1TB, has a PCIe Gen 3 x4 interface.
