Testing

The sound quality offered by the Radium 350D is excellent, the voice is clear, and it has a small bass across the range. The quality of the sound is good and the noise canceling is decent, but it can be improved via software and post processing.

If there is one thing to complain with this microphone is the volume which can be lower than normal in some circumstances. However, just like before, this can be easily fixed via software and post processing.

The included base is good as it has rubber pads on the underside. The metal arm is also well made with a solid feel and a good coat of paint on all surfaces.

Final thoughts

The Genesis Radium 350D is a good quality microphone that has a great design and a fair price. The build quality is impressive, and on the same level as the bigger and more expensive microphones, such as the Blue Yeti.

However, when compared with microphones such as the Blue Yeti, it’s easy to see why it’s cheaper. For starters, it’s smaller, it does not have a big desk stand and has no output 3.5” jack for easy audio monitoring.

Even with these shortcomings, the Radium 350D is a great microphone that is quite close in terms of sound quality with the Blue Yeti, although there is less room to adjust the sound and recording patters, when compared to the Yeti.

The voice quality is great, the ambient noise cancelation is average at best, and the bass of the voice is deep but not unnatural. This makes the Radium 350D a good choice for podcasts and video streaming, especially for those that do not want to dive deep into software audio processing after recording.
The accessory bundle is alright for the price point, you get a user manual, a stand extension and a USB Type-C cable. Nothing more and nothing less.
If there is a drawback with the Genesis Radium 350D, it has to be the lack of availability in some countries, even in Europe.

In conclusion, the Radium 350D is a great and affordable USB cardioid microphone that will do a great job for both gaming and streaming. If you can find this microphone in your area and want something that is close in performance with the Blue Yet but not as expensive, then this Genesis Radium 350D will be a good choice for you. Other good points with this fan are the good build quality and the plug and play nature of the microphone, with no software needed to work.
