The Radium 350D is a new microphone that is said to offer a good balance between elegant design, good sound performance and price. The design of this microphone is modern, and its solid metal made body certainly hints that this is a studio microphone, and not your typical streaming or gaming microphone.
The Radium 350D is unfortunately only available in a matte black finish and not any colors, not even white. While the color of the microphone is not as important as its performance, given the sheer number of RGB microphones on the market, having the Radium 350D only in black is a bit of a step back.
The microphone can be used with a standard boom mic arm as it has a regular thread on its underside. However, with the Radium 350D, Genesis has included a metal made stand to hold this microphone and to add more depth to the way the microphone looks. Included with this stand is a metal made extension that screws in between the microphone and the stand. This extension will raise the position of the microphone by a few centimeters.
The underside of the microphone stand uses three large rubber pads. These have a dual purpose, they are gripping any surface and thus the stand will not move, and will prevent scratches on said surface.
The connectivity of the Radium 350D is simple, this microphone uses just one USB Type-C connector. This USB port is installed on the underside of the microphone casing, which makes it convenient for cable routing and management. Unfortunately, this microphone does not have an XLR port.
The dial installed on the front of the microphone will control the gain or the volume of the input. In simple terms, you move this dial to change the volume of your voice or any noise that the microphone records.
The mesh that is on the top of the microphone is made from solid metal and has a good feel to it. Behind this mesh we have an integrated foam pop filter that will help with the reduction of unwanted noises.
The cable included with the Radium 350D is well made and has a length of 250cm or 2.5m. At both ends of this cable we have USB Type-C connectors, however, one of them has an integrated USB Type-A adapter. This is done to increase the compatibility with all devices, as some might only have a single Type-C connector or none.
