Testing
The software used with the DM6 Holey Duo Wireless is different than what is being used on other Dream Machines mice. It has three main pages that will allow you to configure the mouse.
On the first page, there is a battery charge indicator on the left side with all the general info of the mouse on the right.
The second page has all the information and settings regarding the speed of the scroll wheel, the sensitivity of the sensor and so on.
The third page has the macro system and functionality which allows you to bind the buttons of the mouse to anything you want.
The DM6 Holey Duo Wireless has a single RGB LED installed on the front part of the PCB. This LED will serve as a battery level indicator and as a profile selection indicator.
The performance testing is done using the Mouse Tester software and a basic MS Paint draw test. Additional testing is done by using the reviewed mouse as the daily mouse, for more than a few weeks. The last part of the test is focusing on the gaming performance of the mouse, using the following games:
– Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
– Grand Theft Auto V
– Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
– Shadow of the Tomb Raider
– Metro Exodus
– The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
– Cyberpunk 2077
The MS paint test is done at different DPI settings; this will indicate any issues with the tracking of the sensor. As you can see, everything works as expected within those DPI values.
The Mouse Tester software is used to test the performance of the sensor in different situations. Using the Velocity test, we can see the tracking performance of the sensor based on the speed the mouse moves on a surface, the lower the spread the better the tracking is.

Final thoughts
The Dream Machines DM6 Holey Duo Wireless is available for less than 50 USD or EUR. This price combined with the PixArt PMW3335 optical sensor & the wireless functionality make the Holey Duo Wireless a great budget gaming mouse.
The battery life is good with approximately 72 hours of continuous usage in wireless mode. What is impressive though, is the charging speed of this mouse, that’s thanks to the fact that this mouse will charge at around 0.4 amps, well above the value used by other gaming mice.
The build quality is great and on the same level as the DM6 Holey S. The casing is solid with added reinforcements underneath. There is no flexing even with pressure is applied on the mouse. However, there are some uneven gaps in between the plastic panels of the mouse, this should be addressed during quality control.
The performance of this mouse is great in both wired and wireless mode. Without its cable there is no delay present, and the gaming experience is good. In fact, the DM6 Holey Duo Wireless is one of the only wireless mice that I enjoy using as my daily mouse.
The Huano made blue switches offer great tactile feedback for the main clicks. The side buttons are solid and offer good tactile feedback. This is thanks to the added bracing of the PCB for the side buttons.
In conclusion, the Dream Machines DM6 Holey Duo Wireless is a good wireless mouse that is affordable without skimping on quality. The performance is great thanks to the low power PixArt sensor. The same can be said for the buttons, as all use Huano mechanical switches. The only drawbacks of the DM6 Holey Duo Wireless are the panel gaps of the casing and the interface of the software which could be simplified.
