The Crucial P5 1TB is one of the first M.2 SSDs that uses the new Micron DM01B2 controller. The design of the P5 is elegant, with a dark black PCB and an all black labels applied on both sides of the SSD.
Just like many other M.2 SSDs, the P5 1TB uses the M.2 2280 form factor, which means that the SSD has a width of 22 mm and a length of 80 mm, with a thickness of just 2mm.

The Crucial P5 1TB uses the new Micron eight-channel flash controller with the model number: DM01B2.
This controller is known to have full DRAM support and also has dual Arm Cortex-R5 CPU cores. In addition, The controller interfaces with the host over a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface and links through the NVMe 1.3 protocol.

The two memory flash chips used with the P5 1TB are manufactured by Micron and have the 96-layer TLC NAND design. Each memory chip has a total storage capacity of 512 GB for a total of 1000GB.
These memory chips have the model number: NW969 which translates to the complete serial number: MT29F4T08EQLCEG8-R:C.

The Crucial P5 uses a single Micron made DRAM chip. This is a DDR4-4266 chip which has a total capacity of 1GB of fast DRAM storage.
