The side of each earbud have two buttons and a multicolored status LED at the center. One of the buttons has a round shape placed on the top, to make it easier to differentiate. These buttons are the main controls for both earbuds, the right button (the one with the round shape) is used for the media controls, which includes play/pause/answer/end call and also turns on and off the earbud.

The other button is used for controlling the volume of your smartphone; however, this simple button works in a pair with the button on the other earbud. For example: the simple button on the right earbud will increase the volume of your smartphone, while the simple button on the left earbud will lower the volume.

 

In terms of ergonomics, Blast Plug BP81 are great, while the cheaper plastic construction might be considered as a drawback at first, it is not. A lightweight construction combined with the rounded off shape of the casing creates a good experience when using the earbuds.

The sound quality is very good and balanced. The bass is strong enough but also does not interfere with the mid and low range frequencies. The sound is clear regardless of the battery charge level. In addition, there is little to no difference between the Blast Plug BP81 and a similarly priced wired pair of earbuds in terms of sound quality.

 

The included case also serves as a dedicated power bank and charging station for the earbuds. To fully charge both earbuds, they require around 1 hour of charging time, however to charge the case, it requires approximately 2 hours. While the earbuds have an advertised battery charge of 3 hours of constant music playback, in the case of this review, the maximum achieved was 2 hours and 10 minutes.

 

Final thoughts

The Silicon Power Blast Plug BP81 are a good pair of in-ear headsets. The sound quality is great, especially for a Bluetooth device of this size. The build quality is good although the earbuds are made out of plastic. The Blast Plug BP81 are available for approximately 38 USD or EUR, and this is a good price for what these earbuds have to offer.
The battery life is good enough for what the Blast Plug BP81 are intended for, which his outdoors activities. On average, with constant music playing, the battery will discharge completely after 2 hours, however the carrying case will be able to recharge the earbuds while still being portable.
The only drawback of these earbuds is the microphone, which has an average sound quality at best. It is a usable microphone; however, it could have been much better, especially within this price range.

In conclusion, the Silicon Power Blast Plug BP81 are a good pair of wireless earbuds that offer a good sound quality and have a adequate battery life. In addition, the build quality is good and the carrying case can charge the earbuds while on the way.
