The Sabrent Rocket 4 2TB is available in multiple variants including with a custom heatsink. The design of the Rocket 4 is similar in shape with the design of the rest of the Sabrent M.2 SSDs. The Rocket 4 uses an all-black PCB with bronze accents on the front label. Like most high-capacity SSDs, the label used on this SSD doubles as a small heatsink.

The Sabrent Rocket 4 2TB is only available in the M.2 2280 form factor, this means that the SSD has a width of 22 mm and a length of 80 mm with a thickness of 3.7mm.

 

The Sabrent Rocket 4 2TB uses the Phison PS5016-E16 controller, the first of its kind. This controller was the first one to support the new PCIe 4.0 interface. This controller can also be found under the name Sabrent PH-SBT-RKT-401.

 

The Rocket 4 2TB has a total of 2GB of DDR4 RAM cache. This is configured in two 1GB SK Hynix DDR4 RAM chips.

 

The storage is done using four Kioxia 96-layer 3D TLC memory chips. Each chip has a total capacity of 500GB and the SSD has them installed on both sides of the PCB.

 

The Rocket 4 2TB, has a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface.

 

The included heatsink can be purchased as a standalone product or as part of this bundle. It has a weight of 87grams. To cool the SSD and its Phison controller, this heatsink uses three copper made heatpipes and a solid aluminum structure.
