The IceSLEET G6 Stealth is the flagship model of IceBerg Thermal, it’s a single tower air CPU cooler that uses a single 140mm fan and weighs in at no less than 1080g.
The design of this CPU cooler is centered around its single 140mm fan and the lack of RGB LEDs. In fact, the only graphic element present on this cooler is on the top plastic panel.
In terms of size, the IceSLEET G6 Stealth is large, with a height of 160mm, a width of 156mm and a depth of 123mm.
The heatsink used on this CPU cooler is unique to this model and can only accommodate the included 140mm fan. It has rounded corners and it uses 57 aluminum made cooling fins. The shape of the fins is made to not only enhance the unique design of the CPU cooler but to aid with the flow of the air. Unfortunately, due to this fin design, the cooler is unable to accommodate any fans apart from the included 140mm fan.
The lower cooling fins are shorter than the rest, this is done on both sides of the heatsink. The idea behind this design is to increase the compatibility and clearance of RAM modules in all type of systems.
To dissipate the head of the CPU, the IceSLEET G6 Stealth uses no less than six nickel-plated copper heatpies, each with a 6mm outer diameter. These are arranged in the classic U shape to facilitate the heat transfer and dissipation. In addition, having the heatpipes arranged like that increases the overall sturdiness of the CPU cooler.
The difference with these heatpieps, when comparing the CPU cooler to other high-end models is the direct touch design. The surface of the baseplate of the IceSLEET G6 Stealth is made out of the six heatpipes and nickel-plated copper. This baseplate design has been around for a long time and it’s called HDT, or heatpipe direct touch.
The endings of the heatpipes are not machined symmetrical. However, this is irrelevant as the top of the heatsink is covered by a plastic cover.
The fan used on the IceSLEET G6 Stealth has the 140 x 140 x 25 mm dimensions and uses a custom mounting system. In fact, this fan is only attached in two points on the top plastic plate.
While normally I would criticize such a mounting system as often, they are impossible to replace if failure occurs, the one used on this cooler is different. This mounting system is a simple plastic clip that will accept many fans that have the same 140 x 140 x 25 mm dimensions. This is a level of thinking from the manufacturer that is lacking from many other companies.
The fan is made specially for the IceSLEET G6 Stealth and that is its name. It has a speed range of 600-1400 RPM and uses a 4-Pin connector for power. The bearing is a simple Fluid Dynamic Bearing with a life span of 150.000 hours.
In addition, the fan has rubber pads on both sides of all four corners. This is done to dampen vibrations and protect the heatsink from scratches.
The cable of the fan is long enough to reach most fan headers located around the CPU socket. The wires are protected by soft plastic sleeving and everything is the same shade of black to match.
