Visual inspection
The Gamdias Hebe M1 RGB are oriented towards gaming, the main features being the RGB illumination and the bass vibration function. The illumination is done on the sides of the earcups, this feature is configurable in the driver offered on the Gamdias website.
The headsets use a self-adjusting lower headband, the adjustment is done only height-wise, in addition, the two upper metallic headbands are fixed in place for a better overall fit.
The outer casing of the earcups is made out of plastic, the surface is matte black. On the lower part, there is the manufacturer’s logo applied. On the right side, there is the main design of the headsets, this is done in layers towards the back.
The microphone is flexible and retractable, it is also a unidirectional microphone.
The ear cushions are covered in synthetic leather and are detachable, their surface is soft and malleable.
The headset’s cable has a length of 2m, it is not covered by any sleeving and the control for the headset is done within the remote mounted on the cable. On the side of the remote there are the two volume buttons while on the front side there are three buttons that deal with switching the microphone and LED illumination on and off and for activating the vibration function.
Testing
The mounting of the ear cushions is done by rotating them alongside a plastic made edge that directs the cushions into their slots.
The sound quality of the Hebe M1 is good, however the maximum volume is uncomfortable while the mid range is not powerful enough. Overall, the sound of the headsets is clearly directed towards heavy bass and as much volume as possible, the treble is clear enough.
The vibration on bass function of these headsets is nothing more than a feature that will get used one time and then be forgotten. The vibration itself is so powerful that becomes a distraction in most cases while combined with the high volume of the 50mm drivers, it can make the listening experience with the Hebe M1 uncomfortable.
The uni-directional microphone is good, it picks up the voice clearly and very little in terms of background noise, so the microphone itself is great for gaming and conversations. In addition, the fact that it is retractable is a plus.
In order to accurately test the headsets, they have been used in different type of games such as: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Deus EX: Mankind Divided, Prey, Battlefield 1. In addition, a list of the used songs is available below.
The following songs have been used to test the headsets:
– The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Soundtrack
– Daft Punk – Give Life Back to Music
– Daft Punk Feat Pharrell Williams – Get Lucky
– Daft Punk Feat Panda Bear – Doin’ It Right
– Lorde – Tennis Court (Flume Remix)
– Desire – Under Your Spell
– LORD FUNK – REVERIE
– Kavinsky & Lovefoxxx – Nightcall
– Gramatik – No Way Out
– Gramatik – Break Loose
– Glass Animals – Toes
– Alice Cooper – I’m Eighteen
– Dan Croll – From Nowhere
– T-Rex – Get It On
– Jimi Hendrix – Foxy Lady
– Jimi Hendrix – Purple Haze

Final thoughts
In terms of pure sound performance and listening experience, Gamdias offers a good pair of headsets and a reasonable price. The 50mm drivers do their job and deliver clear treble and good details with deep bass. However, the volume level needs to be worked due to the maximum level being too much to be used.
In terms of usage for long periods of time, thanks to the self-adjusting inner headband and the big soft ear cushions, the headsets are comfortable even after more than 5 hours of continuous usage.
The inline remote is made out of plastic and is too big for what it is, in addition, the quality of the build in this case is average at best, the remote feels cheap in contrast with the actual headsets which have a good build quality and weight.
In conclusion, the Hebe M1 are a pair of gaming headsets that are doing their job, the vibration bass is nothing much than a gimmick that will be used one time and then be forgotten. Also, the volume at its peak is way to much to handle in normal usage. However, in terms of ergonomics and sound quality, these headsets are good, especially for the price.
