The Pure Loop 240 has an elegant design with a black and silver color combination. In many ways, the design of this cooler is similar with that of the Dark Rock series of Air CPU coolers. In addition, the Pure Loop 240 has no RGB integration and just a single-color LED installed on the CPU block.
The cooler uses a standard 240mm radiator and two 120mm fans which are part of the Pure Wings 2 series.
The CPU block follows the overall elegant design of the cooler, with a black plastic made body and a top silver plate. The top of the CPU block is covered by a plastic silver plate which also features a linear brushed texture that mimics the texture of brushed aluminum. In addition, the be quiet! logo is carved into the surface of the brushed texture.
The only LED present on the entire CPU cooler is located around the silver plate at the top of the CPU block. This LED strip has only one color, which is bright white, and while some might disagree, the white line does compliment the brushed texture alongside the be quiet! logo on the center.
The tubes of the cooler connect to the CPU water block through two plastic made fittings. Thankfully these fittings are angled at 90° and can also swivel, thus increasing the overall flexibility of the tubes, which is useful especially during the installation process.
The cable connected to the CPU block is plenty long and thin. However, this cable is used NOT for powering the pump of the cooler, but for powering the white LED strip found at the top of the CPU block.
The baseplate of the cooler is made from nickel-plated copper and has a smooth surface with subtle circular marks left from the manufacturing process. These marks while they will not affect the performance of the cooler, do enhance its design, as they create a sunburst pattern on the baseplate.
The tubes of the Pure Loop 240 have a total length of 400mm and are covered by high quality sleeving. As is the standard, the tubes are connected to the radiator using plastic made fittings.
One main difference between the Pure Loop 240 and other AIO coolers is the pump used. With the Pure Loop 240, be quiet! opted for an inline pump that is installed on the tubes of the cooler, towards the radiator. These inline pumps are nothing new, however many manufacturers do not use them as they do not offer a “clean” look on the cooler.
The biggest advantage of this inline pump apart from bypassing the Asetek patent, is that it is virtually inaudible even at maximum speed, which is a hard thing to achieve on an AIO. In addition, this pump is powered through a single 3 Pin connector, and be quiet! insists on powering the pump from a 12V power source.
The radiator used with the Pure Loop 240has the standard dimensions: 272mm (L) x 120mm (W) x 27mm (H). The fins and body of the radiator are made from aluminum, and this radiator has an fins-per-inch density of 20.
On the side of the radiator there is a small screw which covers the fill and bleed port of the cooler. This means that the Pure Loop 240 is not only very easy to service but it is also easy to have the trapped air removed.
The two fans included with the cooler are part of the Pure Wings 2fan series. These have the model number: BQ PUW2-12025-HR-PWM. The fans have a maximum speed of 2000RPM and thanks to their single 4 Pin connectors, they can be controlled via PWM.
