The Ballistix Gaming is part of the new series of memory from Crucial, the model number for the kit featured in the review is: BL2K16G32C16U4B.
The design of the Ballistix is minimalist, with no graphics applied on the heatsink apart from the manufacturer & product series emblems. The surface of the heatsink has a smooth matte finish and an angular design.
The memory module has a height of approximately 40mm, thanks to the low-profile design of the heatsink. The low-profile design makes the Ballistix kit compatible with most air CPU coolers that interfere with the RAM slots of the motherboard.
The top of the heatsink features the Ballistix logo and a hinge mechanism that holds the two parts of the heatsink attached. Both sides of the heatsink are attached to the memory chips with double sided thermal tape.
The only label present on the Ballistix is found on the lower side of the heatsink. This label presents two QR codes and the following technical information of the memory kit: timings, frequency and voltage.
The center of the heatsink features the only graphic element present on the memory module: the Ballistix series logo. In addition, the Crucial by Micron emblems are located on the lower side of the heatsink
The RAM uses a double side PCB design, and features an all-black PCB. The memory chips used in this kit have the serial number: C9BJZ. The memory chips that have this model number are E-Die and are known for stable and good overclocking.
