Introduction
Alpenföhn is a company which manufacturers cooling components for IT systems, which started its activity in 2008. The Alpenföhn line includes CPU coolers, fans and accesorries which include: thermal compound, storage cooling systems and fan mounting systems.
The Alpenföhn brand was created by the company EKL AG, founded in 1995, it is a company specialized in manufacturing industrial cooling solutions.

Packaging and accessories
The Black Ridge is delivered in a square cardboard box which has a black and blue design with white accents. The front side of the packaging presents the cooler using a profile photo of the cooler and fan. The name of the product is printed on the lower left corner with the manufacturer’s logo printed on the upper side. In addition, the compatible sockets of the cooler are placed on the lower right corner in small font.
The sides of the box have a monochrome diagram of the cooler, which presents the overall dimensions of the heatsink. The basic technical specifications of both the heatsink and the included fan can also be found here.
The back of the packaging is simple, with no design elements present.
The cooler has a good protection inside the packaging, thanks to a high-quality soft foam that surrounds it and the accessories.

Would love to see the box intel cooler included in these kind of tests.

This heatsink doesn’t support lga-2011 or 2011-3 I learnt this the hard way.
I’m sorry to hear that.
The way it’s mounted in the pictures is the worst possible configuration.
Heatpipe bend on the bottom would be most efficient and that way the ram slots wouldn’t be covered.

I’ve had this conversation multiple times since this review was published. In my configuration, with an ATX motherboard, that orientation of the CPU cooler was the ONLY one possible.
