Silicon Power QP75 Power Bank

Testing

The build quality of the QP75 power bank is good. The outer shell is covered on both sides by a soft to the touch rubber coating. However, there is an issue with this coating, it will get dirty quickly and requires constant maintenance. In addition, if dirt ends up inside the lines of this coating, then cleaning will become a hassle.

To charge the QP75 power bank from empty to 100% fully charge, the battery requires around 3 hours, which is also the advertised speed for charging.

In regards to the charging of a smartphone, the two orange ports of the Silicon Power QP75 uses the QUALCOMM’s Quick Charge 3.0. These two ports have a maximum output of 18W. That means 5V at 2.5A, 9V at 2A and 12V at 1.5A. In comparison, the secondary output ports can only output around 10W of power with 5V at 2.1A.

To test the charging performance of this power bank, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 smartphone was used, this model has a battery of 4000Mah. The total time required for the battery to charge the smartphone is under 2 hours.

Final thoughts

The Silicon Power QP75 Power Bank is priced at around 30 USD or EUR, however the availability right now is limited. For this price, the QP75 has plenty of features which make it stand out from the oversaturated power bank market. First, the form factor for the QP75 is great, it is no bigger or thicker than a regular smartphone. Second, the included two charging cables and connectors are a great feature that should be implemented in every power bank. Not only it saves space, but even if you forget your charging cables, the QP75 will still be able to charge your smartphone.

The build quality is great, the casing of the power bank is made from plastic but it has a solid structure. The rubber coating is smooth and nice to the touch however, it has a major shortcoming, it will catch fingerprints and smudges very fast. Also, if dirt gets in between the lines that are carved into the surface of the power bank, then cleaning them will be even harder.

The performance of this power bank is good, it can charge up to four devices at the same time. In addition, two of the charging ports are using the QUALCOMM Quick Charge 3.0 system which will deliver an 18W output.

In conclusion, the Silicon Power QP75 is a great power bank that will quickly charge your smartphone, or charge up to four devices at the same time. The build quality is great and the design is simple. The only inconvenient is the rubber coating which will get dirty quickly.
