Testing

The following system was used to test the SD Card:
– Processor: Intel i9 9900K @ 5GHz
– Motherboard: ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming X
– Graphics Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio
– SSD: Crucial MX 500GB
– HDD: WD 1TB Blue
– PSU: Seasonic Snow Silent 750W Platinum
– CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster MasterLiquid 240
– Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe
– OS: Windows 10 64-Bit (After April Update)

 

The SD Card and adapter are tested using the CrystalDiskMark 6.0.2 benchmark. In order to obtain a precise result each test was performed three times.

Final thoughts

The GOODRAM MICROCARD IRDM 128GB has a price of approximately 17 US Dollars or Euro. Thanks to this price, the MICROCARD IRDM 128GB is placed in the same price bracket as the other well-known storage manufacturers.

In terms of performance, the MICROCARD IRDM 128GB deliver the specified writing and reading speeds. The SD Card was used as the daily storage medium for all reviews starting 5th of January 2020, and until now, there have been no problems in terms of speed or formatting.

While testing the Micro SD Card using a dedicated USB 3.0 adapter, the included SD card adapter was also used to check if there is any performance difference. Both the writing and reading speeds are nearly identical regardless of using the adapter or just the Micro SD Card.

In conclusion, the GOODRAM MICROCARD IRDM 128GB is a good product, it delivers on what it promises: good performance and reliability. While it is not cheaper than competing products, it is within the same price range. The only inconvenience with this Micro SD Card is the availability, especially when we talk about the 128GB version.
