The Endorfy Arx 500 ARGB is the more expensive and slightly fancier variant of the regular Arx 500 Air. The design of both cases is identical but there are differences in terms of features and pricing. The regular Arx 500 being a cheaper and less flashy case but with the same shape and more or less the same features. However, the Arx 500 ARGB as the name suggests is packed with addressable RGB LEDs and a dedicated ARGB controller.
The design of the Arx 500 is simple, with a metal mesh at the front, a tempered glass side panel and an all-metal construction. The are no unusual shapes on this case, and no plastic decorative components, apart from the frame that holds the front mesh in place.
The case has a weight of 7.5 kg, with the dimensions: L x W x H: 429 x 228 x 486mm.
The right-side panel is a simple tempered glass window that is attached to the case with two captive thumb screws at the rear.
The glass side panel has a metal frame installed behind the glass. This way not only is the glass protected from impacts against the frame of the case, but the metal part of the panel is used to hold the entire thing attached to the case.
The left-side panel used on the Endorfy Arx 500 ARGB is made from a simple aluminum metal sheet. Just like the glass side panel, this one is also using captive thumb screws at the back and it too has to be pulled towards the back of the case to be removed.
The front side of the Endorfy Arx 500 ARGB has a removable mesh panel that acts as a dust filter alongside the main design element of the case.
Behind this mesh panel we have no less than three 140mm A-RGB fans that are prewired to the integrated fan hub and RGB controller. The fans are all the same and have good specs out of the box. Apart from the A-RGB LEDs, these fans are using a fluid dynamic bearing system and have an RPM range of 200-1200RPM.
For water cooling support at the front, you can install several radiator sizes: 120, 240, 280 & 360mm.
With the front panel removed from the chassis we can see that the Arx 500 ARGB does not have a front dust filter. Instead, the metal mesh of the front panel is the only dust protection present.
With the front panel removed from the chssis we can see that the The top of the case is covered by a high-quality metal dust filter, which is easy to remove and clean. The filter sits on the chassis and locks in place with the help of four metal notches that slide into the case.
The removal of the filter is simple, you simply pull it towards the back of the case, and it releases.
It is good to know that at the back of the case, there is a single thumb screw that secures the top dust filter.
Behind this dust filter the case can accommodate up to two 140mm fans or up to three 120mm fans. While for radiator support, the top of the case is large enough to accommodate several radiator dimensions: 120, 240 & 280mm.
The I/O panel of the Endorfy Arx 500 ARGB is good and located on the upper edge of the front panel.
The I/O panel is composed of the following:
– 1x Headphone
– 1x Microphone
– 1x USB Type-C
– 2x USB 3.0
– 1x Power Button
– 1x Reset Button
– 1x Storage Activity LED
– 1x Power LED
The cables of the I/O panel are long and completely black.
The back side of the case has a single Stratus 140 PWM ARGB fan preinstalled doing the entire exhaust for the case.
The expansion slots have thumbscrews that hold them attached. However, the thumb screws are hidden and protected by a large metal plate that it has its own thumb screw.
This design of hiding the thumbscrews of the expansion covers is nothing new, but it’s a nice feature to have, design wise.
The power supply is installed inside a dedicated tray that holds the entire power supply unit with, you guessed, thumb screws. This type of mechanism used to hold the power supply inside the case is not new, but it makes the installation of the PSU easier.
The underside of the Endorfy Arx 500 ARGB is simple in design; it has a large and flexible dust filter that can be removed with ease. This dust filter is magnetic and slides out from the back of the case.
The case has four large plastic made feet, each with a rubber pad on its underside. This way, the case not only will grip on most if not all surfaces it sits on, but it will not scratch anything.
