The be quiet! Shadow Wings 2 White as the name suggests is the all-white variant of the Shadow Wings 2 fan. This model has a glossy texture instead of the matte one used on the black models.
From a design standpoint, the Shadow Wings 2 White is one of the best-looking case fans, as it uses a white with black accents color combination, and the unique be quiet! shape.
The fan uses the standard 120mm dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25.
The blades of the Shadow Wings 2 White are designed to deliver as much airflow as possible, as the Shadow Wings 2 series is a case fan series, hence why the blades are not close together. The surface of the impellers has indents that will help increase the airflow generated by the fan while keeping the noise output as low as possible.
The gap between the tip of the impeller and the inner edge of the fan frame is average at best. Usually, a large gap is not a good thing as it is a way for static pressure to leak, however, the Shadow Wings 2 is an airflow and case fan and it does not need a small gap to perform well.
The Shadow Wings 2 uses a standard 4-Pole motor with a Rifle bearing system. This bearing system is similar with the Sleeve bearing system, but it is quieter and lasts just as long.
The mounting system used on these fans is different than your usual rubber clip or fan screw. The Shadow Wings 2 series uses a plastic and rubber push pin system to attach the fans to the case. This system is unique to the Shadow Wings series and it is quite effective in removing the vibrations of the fan. In addition, you can use these fans on radiators as this push pin system allows for the usage of long radiator screws.
The back of the fan is simple, with only four plastic beams supporting the rotor assembly of the fan. The wires of the fan are routed around one of the plastic beams. This is done to create a cleaner look and prevent additional airflow noise caused by loose wires.
On the back of the motor assembly, there is the standard paper label. This contains the model number of the fan, the manufacturer’s logo, and the maximum RPM, among other things.
The Shadow Wings 2 White has a simple all black cable which is not covered by sleeving. The connector used for power is a single 4-Pin Molex, which allows you to control the fan speed via PWM.
