Testing
The following system was used to test the SSD
– Processor: Intel i9 9900K @ 5GHz
– Motherboard: ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming X
– RAM: Neo Forza Faye DDR4 64GB 3600MHz
– GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio
– SSD: Crucial P2 500GB
– Mass Storage: Neo Forza NFP075 2TB
– CPU Cooler: SilverStone Permafrost PF240-ARGB
– PSU: Seasonic Snow Silent 750W Platinum
– Case: be quiet! Silent Base 802 White
The installation of the heatsink couldn’t be simpler, as the whole assembly is held in place by four screws. You install the SSD inside the heatsink holder and then place the MC1 PRO over the SSD. You secure the heatsink with the screws and you are done.

Final thoughts
The be quiet! MC1 PRO is a great M.2 SSD heatsink, it not only looks good and has no RGB but it performs great. For a price of 17USd, the be quiet! MC1 PRO is a good value heatsink, it not only performs but it is well made.
This M.2 SSD heatsink is easy to install and will fit in any system that does not use a dedicated SSD heatsink. Some motherboards have their chipset heatsink be part of the M.2 SSD heatsinks and, in that case, the MC1 PRO will not fit.
The usage of a copper made heatpipe helps with the cooling of the SSD while keeping the cost down. The MC1 PRO cannot be on the same level as the Sabrent M.2 heatsinks, as it uses less heatpipes and has a smaller heat dissipation area. However, those M.2 heatsinks are priced higher, sometimes double.
In conclusion, the be quiet! be quiet! MC1 PRO is a great M.2 SSD heatsink that not only does its job and will lower the SSD temperature, but its affordable. The cooling performance of the MC1 PRO is good, with a temperature drop of 12 °C with only the heatsink installed and a temperature drop of 19 °C with some airflow passing on the heatsink.
If your motherboard can accommodate an aftermarket M.2 SSD heatsink, then the be quiet! MC1 PRO is a great choice for any M.2 SSD.
