Visual inspection
The be quiet! MC1 Pro heatsink has a good design which is in line with all be quiet! products. It’s simple yet elegant, with an all-black coating applied on the heatsink and its accessories. The MC1 PRO is made from two parts, the top which is the before mentioned heatsink and the bottom which acts as a holder for the SSD and as a secondary heatsink for the underside of the SSD.
The MC1 Pro has the following dimensions: 15mm x 24mm x 74mm.
The heatsink is made entirely out of metal and has a solid structure. The top part has thick fins that will dissipate the heat of the SSD. Ideally, to increase the heat dissipation, more fins that are smaller would have been better.
On the top part, the only graphics present are the be quiet! logo and the name of the SSD heatsink. A good touch design wise, is the fact that the manufacturer’s logo has its own cutout in the surface of the heatsink.
The MC1 PRO uses a single copper made heatpipe that goes along the entire length of the heatsink. This will help with the heat dissipation and adds more depth to the design of the MC1 PRO.
The underside of the heatsink has a preinstalled thermal pad, this has a thickness of at least 1mm and is of high quality. The same can be said for the thermal pad placed on the heatsink holder.
