The DM2 Comfy S features an updated optical sensor, the Pixart PMW 3360 that will go up top 12000DPI, however the best experience I had with the Comfy S and this sensor was at around 1600 DPI.
The build quality of the DM2 Comfy S is very good, the rubberized coating is even applied all across the surface and all the buttons and scroll wheel have a good tactile feedback.
