The keyboard has a simple & functional design. The Fnatic Gear Rush is available in three switch variants, offering Cherry MX Blue, Red or Brown, the keyboard in this case is the Blue Switch variant. The red baseplate which is used to blend the LED light is visible between the keys. The keyboard features two rubber feet (excluding the two rotating feet).
A feature of this keyboard is the detachable arm-wrest, it features the same matte rubberized texture as the keyboard. The arm-wrest fixes onto the keyboard with the help of two plastic clamps, the arm-wrest is at the same level as the keyboard.
On the right corner at the back of the keyboard there are two USB 2.0 pass-through ports, these are simple extensions which connect to the PC.
At the top part of the keyboard there are the multimedia keys (F1-F6), next to them there are placed the keys for selecting the profiles of the keyboard (F7-F11). The F12 key activates the “Fnatic” mode with deactivates the Windows key and activates the macro keys.
These functions are being used in combination with the “Fn” key. The keyboards’ illumination is controlled by using the “Fn” key in combination with the NumPad 8 and NumPad 2 keys.
Each key is individually illuminated, also the keyboard uses Cherry MX Blue Switches with 45g actuation force.
The keyboard uses a 1.8m long black & orange braided cable, the USB connector of the keyboard (pass-through) is gold plated. The sleeving of the cable is high quality.
The Fnatic Gear Rush model uses Cherry MX Blue switches, these have an actuation force of 45g. The keyboard layout is standard without added keys.
The illumination of the keyboard is uniform however the illumination of each key is not due to the positioning of the LED at the top of the switch.
The keyboard can be configured using the proprietary software of Fnatic the “Rush Settings v1.5”. This software has an intuitive interface being easy to use, the interface mantains the black-orange chromatic of Fnatic.
The left part of the window is dedicated to macro configuration while the top part is dedicated to personalize and select the keyboard’s profiles.
The Fnatic Gear Rush model was tested both in normal use & gaming.
Normal day to day use consisted of Internet browsing & a few writing applications (MS Word & Excel).

6. Final thoughts
The Fnatic Gear Rush keyboard is oriented towards the gaming segment using a simple & functional design. The Cherry MX Blue switches offer an excellent tactile & audio feedback, the Cherry MX switches being among the best switches on the market, using them adds value to the keyboard.
The Red LED illumination is pleasant and its adjustable brightness in 4 levels alongside the keyboard’s multimedia functions are all welcomed features.
Due to its 128 KB internal memory, the keyboard is not dependent on a software in order to use its 5(five) profiles or to properly function in a “Plug & Play” style, this offers the keyboard flexibility and mobility being ideal for eSports competitions.
In conclusion, the Fnatic Gear Rush keyboard is an excellent mechanical keyboard having a more than fair price being based on the Func KB-460 keyboard, a keyboard which stood out from the crowd just like the Fnatic Gear Rush, thanks to its simple & functional design, the Cherry MX switches and the competitive price. The keyboard is ideal for both gaming and daily usage and for competitive gaming.
