Noctua NH-L9i

The Noctua NH-L9i is designed to fit most if not all small form factor motherboards, as long as they use the standard Intel & AMD CPU socket area format.
The version of the NH-L9i features the all black color scheme, starting with the heatsink, mounting system, the screws and the included 92mm fan. The heatsink has a total of two copper heatpipes, each with an outer diameter of 6mm.
The dimensions of the heatsink are: (H)23mm x (W)95mm x (D)95mm, with a weight of 320g.


The design of the heatsink is simple and has a square shape, which is centered over the base plate of the cooler.
The fin density is good and will increase the total cooling area. The cooler uses a total of 55 fins, which are manufactured from aluminum and painted black. These fins make direct contact with the heatpipes. The edge bend present on each fin is to create more structural rigidity and also enhance the design of the heatsink.


The Noctua NH-L9i uses only two heatpipes for transferring the heat. This is done to lower the height and the overall footprint of the cooler. The heatpipe endings are visible on one side of the cooler and they are evenly shaped. The contact between the heatpipes and the base plate of the cooler is done through soldering the two surfaces.


The baseplate of the NH-L9i is made from nickel-plated copper and has a circular finish that is close to a mirror like reflection. There are no distinctive marks left from the manufacturing process.


The fan used with the NH-L9i is the NF-A9x14 HS-PWM This fan has the dimensions: 92 x 92 x 14 mm. with the mounting hole spacing: 82,5×82,5 mm.
The NF-A9x14 HS-PWM is equipped with rubber pads on both sides of each corner and is using the new Noctua SSO2 bearing, with Flow Acceleration Channels on the blades and Stepped Inlet Design on the frame.

The fan has a minimum speed of 600 RPM and a maximum speed of 2500 RPM. A low speed noise adapter is included in the accessory bundle. With the adapter, the maximum speed is reduced to 1800RPM.


The cable of the fan is covered by high quality rubber sleeving and the power connector is a standard 4-Pin PWM connector.
