25% Cooler Than Stock: The CRYORIG C7 comes packed with a staggering total of 4 high performance copper heatpipes. CRYORIG heatpipe tech allows the C7 to be 25% cooler while being 20% quieter than a reference stock heatsink, while being the same size.
Zero Interference: The CRYORIG C7 has a specifically designed width and length that safely complies with the CPU * Keep Out Zone. The C7 is a guaranteed fit, with no RAM or PCI-E card interference period.
Quad Air Inlet™ System: A super compact cooler like the C7, needs as much cooling tech as possible. The C7’s 92mm fan features CRYORIG’s proprietary Quad Air Inlet™ System that allows for extra air intake from the four corners of the frame, more airflow: more cooling.
Built In Absorbers: The C7’s proprietary 92mm fan comes with built in Acoustic Vibration Absorbers. The same found on the award winning R1 series ultra-high-end dual tower cooler. By insulating the fan and metal fins, it effectively eliminates all unnecessary vibration.
Fast Easy & Secure: With the newest addition to CRYORIG’s award winning mounting systems, the C7 features CRYORIG’s easiest mounting kit to date. Watch how to install your C7 in 3 steps and within minutes, and with all needed tools included right in the box.

4. Visual inspection

The C7 model has been designed to be used in small systems such as SFF and ITX form factors, it uses in its constructions aluminum for its 57 fins and Nickel-plated Copper for the base and heatpipes, also the cooler has the following measurements: 97 x 97 x 47 mm.

The heatsink uses 57 aluminum fins, these are perforated on the edges to facilitate the mounting of the 92mm fan.

The C7 model features 4 nickel-plated copper heatpipes each with a diameter of 6mm, these are arranged in a U shape these make direct contact with the fins and base of the cooler to facilitate the dissipation of the heat.

The base of the cooler is made out of nickel-plated copper just like the heatpipes. Also the base is brushed.

The mounting system is pre-installed.

The cooler is accompanied by a Cryorig proprietary fan, model number: CR-9215, it has the following dimensions: 92 mm x 92 mm x 15 mm. The fan has a minimum speed of 600 RPM and a maximum speed of 2500RPM, it also features PWM. The cable of the fan is covered by high quality black sleeving and the fan uses a 4-Pin Molex connector and a splitter to power both fans of the cooler.

5. Testing

The following system was used to test the cooler:
–    Processor: Intel i5 4690K @ 3.9 GHz and overclocked to 4.5 GHz
–    Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 9 ACK
–    RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB DDR3 @ 2133MHz
–    GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Armor 2X 4G
–    SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
–    HDD: WD Blue 1TB
–    PSU: Antec Edge 550W Gold
–    Display: AOC i2769VM
–    Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe White
–    Thermal compound: Arctic Cooling MX-4

The Software used for testing the cooler:
–    AIDA64 Extreme Version: 5.80.4000 (Oct 25, 2016)
–    Intel Burn Test v2.54
–    Prime95 28.5

The cooler was tested with the CPU at the default turbo frequency of 3.9 GHz and overclocked to 4.5 GHz with a core voltage of 1.187 V.
Also the included fans have been used at their maximum speed.
The room temperature was approximately 26°C (78°F), with 2°C margin of error.
The idle test consists of the CPU sitting idle at the desktop for 30 minutes, the temperature was measured at the end of the test.
The settings of the software used are the following:
Intel Burn Test v2.54 – Stress level: Maximum
Prime95 28.5 – small FFT
AIDA64 Extreme Version – Temperature monitoring.
Each test was conducted for 40 minutes.

The test results are as follows:

Full Load

The noise level was measured at three different distances from the fans (10cm, 20cm, 30cm.) the noise was measured with a margin of error of ± 5 db.

Due to its shape, the cooler does not interfere the RAM slots.

6. Final thoughts

Due to its format, the C7 cooler is a good choice for SFF and ITX type systems, the cooler having a height of only 48mm.
The build quality of the cooler is exceptional starting from the accessories to the fan and radiator, the main materials used are aluminum and nickel plated copper. The base & four heatpipes are made out of nickel plated copper while the 57 fins are made out of aluminum.
The performance of the cooler is good considering its size and fan used.
The installation process is easy, it includes a backplate and four metallic nuts, Cryorig includes in the bundle a Hex screwdriver to aid in the mounting of the cooler.
In conclusion, the C7 model offers a good performance being also silent in spite of the 92mm fan used. The accessory bundle is rich and the user manual is easy to understand thus making the mounting process even easier.
