Introduction
Micron Technology, Inc. is an American company headquartered in Boise, Idaho, founded on October 5th 1978.
The Micron products are marketed and sold under then Crucial and Ballistix brands, these products include: SDRAM type memory, DDR/2/3/4 RAM and NAND & Flash type storage chips.
In 2009, Micron was the first company to announce an SSD equipped with a SATA interface capable of 6 Gbit/s speeds. At the present time, Micron is involved in the manufacture and sale of memory chips for countless brands and product types.

Packaging and accessories
The X8 SSD is packaged in a standard SSD cardboard box that has been used before, with other Micron made storage devices. The front side of the packaging features a frontal photo of the SSD alongside the full product name and the Crucial by Micron emblem.
The back side of the box has a brief description of the portable SSD printed in no less than 11 different languages. The lower side is covered by a statement in regards with the speed variance of each SSD, these claims are also printed in multiple languages.
The sides of the packaging are simple and follow the minimalist design present at the front. One side lists the contents of the package while the other, has a compatibly list of devices that will work with the X8 SSD.
The SSD has a good protection against impacts but only on the sides. The SSD itself is covered by a high-quality plastic cover, while all accessories are protected by a thin plastic shell.
