The RAM was tested using the CPU at its turbo frequency of 5 GHz. The memory was firstly tested using the standard X.M.P frequency while the second test was done with the memory at the maximum frequency reached while Overclocking. Each test was done a minimum of three times.
The Ballistix Gaming RGB DDR4-3600MHz has a good overclocking potential. With only changing the voltage to 1.4V, the RAM kit was able to overclock from 3600MHz to 4000MHz. However, this overclocking will not bring an actual performance improvement. While running with everything on Auto, it did reach 4000MHz, but it also increased the timings to CL29 which is negating any performance gain from the higher frequency. The only reason for doing this was to prove that it can do such an overclock while running with everything on Auto, however, such high timings are not recommended.

This is a good RAM kit, not only because it uses Micron memory chips, which are known for reliability, but also because of its good performance with the factory settings and X.M.P profile.
The build quality is great, with a solid heatsink and evenly applied thermal pads on all memory chips. The matte coating that is covering the heatsink is of good quality, the heatsink itself is anodized.
The overclocking is good, with just a voltage change, the RAM kit was able to reach 4000MHz. However, further tweaking of the settings is recommended, to not only lower the timings but also to keep the higher frequency.
The design is simple, with no graphics or stickers present on the heatsink. The RGB implementation is done with taste, while the LEDs are bright, the light is not overblown and does not completely wash out everything inside the system.
The asked price is justified by the build quality, and the overclocking potential. In addition, the design of these RAM kits has a different approach, as more RAM modules are tall with plastic inserts for RGB, the Ballistix Gaming is made out of metal with subtle shapes in the heatsink.
In conclusion, the Ballistix Gaming RGB DDR4-3600MHz CL16 32GB kit is a good memory kit that will match any modern system. One of the advantages of this kit is the overclocking potential, thanks to the new Micron memory chips. In addition, the out of the box performance is great, with good timings and frequency.
