Testing

The following system has been used in the assembly:
–    CPU: Intel i5 4690K
–    RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical
–    GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 660 OC Gaming
–    HDD: Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB
–    SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
–    PSU: Seasonic M12II-520 EVO Edition Bronze 520W
–    CPU Cooler: SilverStone Tundra TD02 with NoiseBlocker eLoop B12-PS
–    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
–    Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe White

The first thing that stands out at this cable kit is the quality & the finishing of the sleeving.
The cables are flexible and long enough for a Full Tower chassis, also the length allows the use of one cable for multiple devices. In the case of a normal SATA power cable, the length of the cable and the position of the SATA connectors would not allow the use of just one cable for multiple storage devices due to their position in the chassis.

Important to remember is that these cables are not extensions, they completely replace the cables of a modular Power Supply. Thus, it is very important that the buyer checks the compatibility of the cables with the used Power Supply, this can be done by visiting the compatibility list below:

Final thoughts

The cables from CableMod are worth buying due to the materials used and the variety of colors available and the large & growing number of compatible Power Supplies. It is important to remember that CableMod offer great support for future Power Supplies models and even custom cables.
For those who want to change the look of the system and to improve its functionality in handling, these cable kits are welcomed.
