Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 600W CM

Testing

The following system was used to test the cooler:
– Processor: Intel i5 6600K @ 3.9 GHz and overclocked to 4.5 GHz
– Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Professional Gaming i7
– RAM: Ballistix Tactical Tracer 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz
– GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 Founder’s Edition
– SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
– HDD: WD 1 TB Blue
– CPU Cooler: SilverStone Tundra TD02(Custom) with NoiseBlocker eLoop B12-PS
– Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe White
– OS: Windows 10 64-bit

The above system has a power consumption of approximately 495W when in full load and 67W when idle, in order to test the efficiency of the Power Supply, the power draw of the system was measured at the wall socket. Also, the voltages were measured on the +12v +5v and +3.3v using a multi-meter.

To load the system to its maximum the stability test of the AIDA64 Extreme 5.98.4800 (9/19/2018) was used with Intel Burn Test V2.
The Power Supply was tested with the system both idle and at maximum load.

Power Supply efficiency

For rail voltage tolerance levels, ATX (Power Supply Design Guide) specify that a 5% variable fluctuation is acceptable.

Voltage oscillation idle

Voltage oscillation load

The noise level was measured at three different distances from the fans (10cm, 20cm, 30cm.) the noise was measured with a margin of error of ± 5 db.

Final thoughts

The Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 600W CM is an affordable Gold rated and semi-modular power supply, available at around 80 USD or EUR. The design of this unit is elegant with subtle orange accents and all black cables and wires.
In terms of performance, the power supply achieved an efficiency of 89% at almost maximum load, right in the Gold rating efficiency values.
The internal build quality is good, with three metallic heatsinks responsible for the passive cooling. The soldering quality is also good with even solder on all points on the PCB and components. However, some of the internal components used are cheaper than the rest of the unit. With Teapo made capacitors and MOSFETs manufactured by Sino.
In terms of silence, this unit is using a Silent Wings fan with a maximum speed of 1800RPM and a Rifle Bearing mechanism for increased reliability. Even at maximum load, the power supply is silent and the airflow is adequate.
The semi-modular aspect is done with the user experience in mind, the only cables that are not removable are the ones you will need all the time. All black wires and sleeving are also good features to have.
In conclusion, the Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 600W CM is a good power supply, that is now Gold rated and semi-modular. The build quality is good but some components are cheaper than the rest of the unit. When you take into consideration the price and the features offered by Be Quiet!, this power supply is a good choice for the casual gaming system.
